This project involves the complete renovation of a traditional residence in a settlement of Pelion. The architectural approach was based on respecting the local typology and materials, while also aiming to incorporate modern functional requirements and quality upgrades.
Externally, the traditional form of the building was preserved to remain compatible with the architectural character of the settlement. The stone, wooden frames, colors, and proportions follow local specifications, ensuring a harmonious appearance.
Particular attention was given to improving the building’s energy performance through upgraded window frames, the use of thermal insulation systems, and enhanced natural cross-ventilation. The outdoor spaces were designed as an extension of the residence, providing seating and shaded areas with materials that harmoniously connect with the surrounding environment.
The result is a residence that preserves the authentic character of traditional architecture while simultaneously meeting modern requirements for comfort, aesthetics, and functionality.
